Freelance Oracle Specialist / DBA – Copenhagen

About the position

For a bank client, we are looking for an Oracle Specialist to support with a somewhat simple but high-risk task. As part of preparing their infrastructure to handle partner sales, they need to upgrade their central document repository based on Oracle WCC (WebCenter Content) on the OFM platform with additional meta data fields to distinguish between documents related to different partners/brands.

They have limited knowledge of the area and thus a limited ability to foresee and proactively handle technical risks, plan for and conduct the right testing and cut-over etc. As they store all customer communications (letters, policies and more) in the repository, it is quite large, and they foresee the need to re-optimize database, rebuild index and more. The repository is highly production-critical.

In short, they need specialist support to:

plan for a responsible upgrade
conduct changes in test set-up asap – preferably early December
execute upgrade activities in close collaboration with their own OFM team

They might also ask for some hours of advisory related to making their OFM operational set-up more robust and to support an ongoing platform and application upgrade to new OFM version (to 12c, they are currently on 11g-ish)

Required competences

WCC/UCM expertise
System Specialist
GitLab CI/CD pipeline knowledge (for pipeline building of legacy applications)
Familiar with Oracle products and upgrade processes

Duration

Starting asap

Full time, three months at a time – so with client option to prolong contract
